Firearms Safety Training

Classes Begin Thursday, May 15, 2008

6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Fee: $15 per student

Dates for this Session:  5/15, 5/19, 5/22, 5/26, 5/29 plus a range day

The firearm safety class consists of classroom and field experience in the safe handling of firearms and hunter responsibility. The field experience allows students to learn and demonstrate commonly accepted principles of safety in hunting and the handling of firearms. It includes live fire on a rifle range. Upon successful completion of this course, students receive a temporary certificate. This certificate will allow the bearer to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota and other states where certification is required.

Certification is available to students 11 years and older. DNR Firearms Certification is required of anyone born after December 31, 1979 to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota.
