Gander Mountain Grand Opening of Madison Area Store

Hunting and fishing personalities help launch grand opening of Gander’s 13th Wisconsin Store beginning April 25

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 22, 2008 --- Gander Mountain, the nation's largest retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, boating, marine, and outdoor lifestyle apparel and footwear, products and services celebrates the Grand Opening of its newest Madison area store at 6199 Metro Drive in the Town of Burke, located near I-90 and Highway 51.

The Grand Opening ceremonies begin on Friday, April 25th at 8:00 A.M., when world-class archer and Gander Mountain Elite Pro-Staff member, Ray Howell, cuts the ceremonial ribbon with an arrow shot from 30 yards.

Several well-known outdoor personalities will help celebrate throughout the Grand Opening weekend including: Joe Bucher, author, writer and television host of "Fishing with Joe Bucher;" Tom Keenan, 2006 FLW angler of the year; and Justin Gaiche, television host of "Hook'd Up."

Gander Mountain will be giving away a variety of gift cards, water bottles, and Gander Mountain caps and t-shirts to a limited number of “first shoppers” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Full details about Grand Opening activities available at: www.gandermountain.com.

Gander Mountain’s 90,000 square foot store in the Town of Burke will be a community attraction with its innovative outdoor products and services tailored to Wisconsin’s outdoors enthusiasts. Customers will find in the store a broad selection of apparel and footwear, firearms, equipment for hunting and fishing, archery and camping equipment. Fishing and power boats, ATVs, canoes, and kayaks will be displayed inside and outside of the store and there will be a special interior dock system display.

The store offers a full range of services including: on-site gunsmiths, a fine gun showroom, ATV service and repair, an archery lane and full-service archery shop, line winding, boat and motor service, and a staff of associates with a wealth of knowledge about the outdoor products carried in the store. The store will also contain a “Gander Mountain Lodge,” a meeting room provided free of charge for meetings of local outdoor, business or community groups. During the year Gander Mountain provides educational courses for outdoor enthusiasts in the Lodge and it offers more hunter safety programs through its Lodges than any other source in the United States.

Gander Mountain’s Madison area store is the retailer’s 13th in Wisconsin and its second largest store in the state.
