Gander Mountain Opens New Store in Roanoke

Company adds fourth Virginia store

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 17, 2008 --- Gander Mountain, the nation's largest retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, boating, marine, and outdoor lifestyle products and services will open its newest store at 8195 Gander Way in Roanoke on April 22.  The store is the fourth in Virginia, joining others in Fredericksburg, Richmond and Winchester.

The nearly 66,000 square foot store is built in the new larger format similar to other stores recently opened by Gander Mountain.  The format allows the Roanoke Gander Mountain store to carry a broad selection of products for the outdoors enthusiast.   Customers will have access to thousands of firearms, equipment for hunting, fishing, and archery, apparel and footwear, camping equipment, and gifts.  

Canoes and kayaks will be displayed inside and outside of the Gander Mountain store. The store offers a range of services including: an on-site gunsmith, an archery lane and full-service archery shop, line winding, and a staff of associates with a wealth of knowledge about the outdoor products they provide.

The store also features a “Gander Mountain Lodge”, a meeting room provided free of charge for meetings of local outdoor groups. During the year Gander Mountain provides educational courses for outdoor enthusiasts in the Lodge and offers more hunter safety programs through its lodges than any other retailer in the United States.
