Nice combo. rod construction is good, and the reel has held up for me. countless panfish this year and even an 3lb bass and no trouble. It's a fast stiff rod so it feels more than UL, maybe I'd call it Light. Great for jigging though because it's stiff, lets you really work the jig. I don't want a noodle for a rod. I like the setup and recommend it.

This is really stiff. Its more like a medium action. I dont know why they would even begin to call this an ultra light. Other than that its a great combo but if your looking for a true ultra light, this is not for you.
