I purchased this firearm to introduce my 9 yr old son to deer hunting. This is a great value priced firearm and will consistently shoot .5 inch groups at 100 yds with factory ammo however, it needed a little work. Floated the barrel, replaced the plastic trigger guard (rear screw in trigger guard is also used to hold receiver to stock) with remington 700 ADL steel guard. 7mm-08 Cal is deadly on deer has low recoil. My son has already taken his first deer and 2 coyotes with his new gun. Hats off to Marlin.
