Comments about Ruger 10/22 Carbine Rimfire Rifle:
I LOVE Rugers. I already had a P95 and wanted to get a 22lr rifle for plinking. I researched for a month and decided on getting this gun and adding the tech-sights and bx-25 magazine. I'm extremely happy with my decision. I went with the tech-sights and am WWAAAYYYY more happy with them over the factory stock. I expect to say the same after I go with the hogue stock over the cheaply feeling wood.

Comments about Ruger 10/22 Carbine Rimfire Rifle:
i got my first Ruger 10/22 when i was 13 years old. it's very accurate and killed a lot of squirrals 100 yards up on the bluff down to the other side of the river. Never had any problems with it and probably shot more than 20,000 rounds in it til it got stolen..

Comments about Ruger 10/22 Carbine Rimfire Rifle:
My 10/22 carbine is a couple of years old now and still looks and shoots like new. It is a real joy. It'll eat any ammo it is fed and is extremely accurate with just the iron sights, right out of the box. It's made me a Ruger fan. It has met and exceeded all of my expectations. The 10/22 is a great value too, can't be beat.

Comments about Ruger 10/22 Carbine Rimfire Rifle:
this is an awesome gun. if you are thinking about getting this or the marlin 795 get the ruger. my brother and i got these guns for christmas. when we took them to the range all my hits were within an 8 inch circle at 25 yards (iron sights) . the 795 however had to be aimed off the target to even hit it. we used cci mini mags in both. the iron sights on the ruger are hard to line up and very difficult to see in anything but bright sunlight from behind so i suggest getting a scope. i havent tried longer ranges or a scope yet but i felt like the hits were right where i was aiming. the only other thing i didn't like was the bolt release is a big pain especially in the cold because you have to pull the bolt back all the way press a button underneath the gun then to release it you have to pull the bolt back all the way then hit the button again. this means two hands fumbling with tiny buttons. also don't use the gun lock that comes with it put scratches all over my receiver and wood. if you don't have another one just duct tape all the surfaces that would touch the gun. overall this is a great gun all the problems i mentioned can be fixed you can buy an auto bolt release for ten bucks and a trigger lock for about the same. hope this helps

Comments about Ruger 10/22 Carbine Rimfire Rifle:
If you are just getting into shooting, this is the one rifle you need to buy. Rounds do not cost much, very accurate, ten round mag., and so many upgrade options. The mag. release is a hidden push button, only really going to be a problem if you do speed shooting for competitions. Light enough for small frame shooters, and not much recoil allowing for quick re-sight. In all, one massively good rifle for low cost and many hours of fun.

Comments about Ruger 10/22 Carbine Rimfire Rifle:
I bought a Ruger 10/22 about 18 years ago and it shoots as well now as it did out of the box all those years ago.
My only beef with this weapon is the magazine release being flush with the stock. Well this is easily remedied with a $5 extended magazine release sold by numerous companies it should have been done so by Ruger years ago.
All in all there is no finer rimfire rifle on the market that can beat the 10/22 at this price point.

Q:
Does this have a scope rail already on it?Asked on 8/24/2010 by Anonymous4 answers
A:
The tactical model has a rail pre-mounted, the other versions will need to have them installed. Some dealers have the rails installed on or in store for sale, and there are a number of sites on-line which sell the rails. The rail I installed on mine is a weaver-type, and took about 30 min to install. The rear sight will have to be folded down to put on any long (high mag) scope.Answered on 12/31/2010 by Veteran Shooter from Dunkirk, NYA:
From the additional details tab...
The receiver is drilled and tapped for a tip-off scope mount adapter, included with each rifle.Answered on 2/16/2011 by Snuffy from Richmond, vaA:
