I purchased this gun as a back up to my 700. Went with the same caliber as my 700 just so I don't have to buy 2 different types of ammo. Synthetic stock doesn't look nearly as nice as the walnut, but the Syn is scratch resistant if you hunt in the thick stuff.

Factory trigger is lousy. Accuracy AFTER installing a Timney trigger fix hovered at about a 1" using factory loads, so it's more than fine for deer hunting.

Also, I've found that it's easy to wedge the magazine in the bottom of the receiver when it's dark and your fingers are freezing. The only sure fix to that I've found is to close the action, insert the magazine, and then rack the round. After I started doing that, I had no other feeding issues.

I shot a buck at 100 yds and knocked him right down. I like the pump action on the gun because you can easily pump another shell up in the gun. The gun is very accurate and doesn't kick you very much. I like everything about this gun. I would absolutly recommend this gun for any hunter.
