Camera is very good but not the best. Used StealhCam products and have 4 cameras. Although the shutter speed is slow (3-4 secs) over food or on good trails they work great. We have a LOT of deer and have some excellent videos this year. SC's customer service is not good but can return to GM if they go bad. Had only one that night IR went out. I'm happy with it. Had no whiteouts as with other SC products and just a few of just woods with no game. Get a 4gb sd card and 12v battery if you can.

I purchased this game cam because of the Stealth Cam name. I have always heard good stuff about the different cameras they put out. I put this camera up on my new deer lease thats 6 HOURS away from home.... After running it for 3 weeks in west Texas I went back to scout out another area and check the game cam. OMGOSH!!!! I found the camera DEAD. I had put brand new batteries in my brand new game cam and found it went out on me. New batteries were the first thought I had. That didnt work. It wouldnt even turn on, and to top it all off there wasnt a single pic on the sd card. The green light was on when I left it and it showed no pics.
12 hours worth of drive time and fuel cost for this junk? Not again. Its going back to the store today.( if they will even take it back ) I might go back with Moultrie. At least the display screen is the only thing that seems to go out on them.

Comments about Stealth Cam Sniper IR 5.0 MP Scouting Camera:
This camera takes good pictures you have to buy the antitheft bracket if you are afraid of someone stealing it at night it comes with a cable you supply the lock, you do not have to worry about a flash due to Ir and you do not even have to open it to check the card it tells you how many pictures that are on the card on the front of the camera I think it is worth the cash

Comments about Stealth Cam Sniper IR 5.0 MP Scouting Camera:
I'm new to the game camera way of hunting. I have only got a few of them. But needless to say everyone went back within a week. Ive had this one for about 3 months. Other than the hinges, this is an excellent camera. Great pics even at 3 meg. Camera could use a little work, but other wise good picture.

Comments about Stealth Cam Sniper IR 5.0 MP Scouting Camera:
I hooked it up with an external battery, although it will drain the batts down to 6v, it should last a long time on the internal batterys, so if your getting real bad life out of them you may have a defect some where. The SD card matters as well, get a fast one (4) is best. I put the 16 gig in with external battery and its very cool to go and change out the cards. Im amazed at how good the night picts are.

Comments about Stealth Cam Sniper IR 5.0 MP Scouting Camera:
I bought the camera in april and have used the 32mb built in memory for a month and got a bunch of great photos (about 115). A month ago i put in the 4gb sd scandisk mem card and the camera is so much more exciting when you have over 200 photos in two weeks. Great camera for the price and with a few weeks use the camera instructions come easily ( a little difficult to use in the beginning) but practice makes perfect. Great day photos and night photos are good but the distance lags.

A:
Buns,
Go for the 12volt battery. I have a StealthCam Sniper 5.0 and it lasts for about 2 months before I have to recharge. It's worth the 50 or so bucks for it. You'll spend much more with disposable batteries.Answered on 10/23/2009 by Shooter from New Windsor, NY

This camera takes color pictures during the day, and black and white pictures at night. The IR stands for infared, which means it will not use a flash to capture a picture at night.Answered on 6/25/2009 by Bradley from Gander Mountain
