Great storage case for home
I got this case mainly to store my long guns in at home but if I decided to travel I don't know if I'd feel comfortable taking it on an airline.

Bought the 52" double rifle case new for a Safari to South Africa. The case just cannot handle airline travel. Handle broke off, had hole punched in the side, metal trim bent on all sides and it was warped and would not close properly. I had to tape it shut to get home. Six of us went, my case was in the worst shape. DO NOT PURCHASE FOR AIRLINE TRAVEL!

Comments about Gander Mountain™ Airline-Approved Double Rifle Case:
Have the Center Latches have a full catch like the outboard latches, instead of partial catches that required a pin or locked to keep fully engaged.

Comments about Gander Mountain™ Airline-Approved Double Rifle Case:
I bought this case and was able to fly with it only 1 time. After going through Chicago twice,it had large holes in both sides and multiple dents along the frame. Thank goodness I didn't have optics inside. I suggest spending a little more and getting a heavy duty hard aluminum or plastic case.

Comments about Gander Mountain™ Airline-Approved Double Rifle Case:
Liked the gun case. Only issue is I have a AR with a bull barrel, bi pod, large scope, and large hand grip.
When I close and latch the case it doesn't seal as tight as I would like it to.
It wouldn't be an issue with normal rifles.
