Comments about Ocean Kayak Caper Kayak:
What a great Kayak! Stable when loaded with gear or no gear. Maneuvers well in moderately flowing rivers, flat water, slow rivers and gulf. The rapids I've done have been small, but it handled it well. I am able to lift for loading and unloading by myself unless it's loaded to the hilt with gear. Love fishing out of this yak. I Would recommend this to anyone 6 ft and under. Storage space is awesome. Am able to pack for a long weekend trip with lightweight backpacking gear. Rear end storage great for cooler or water cooler. It's just a great all (most) purpose yak. Would NOT be for FAST WHITE WATER. All other uses it's an exceptional yak. Lots of fun!

Q:
Reading different peoples reviews on the caper, it seems they all complain about water retention in the kayak. Is there a way to remedy this?Asked on 7/23/2009 by Dwayne from Livermore, Ca1 answer
A:
For large swells etc remove the scupper plugs and this will allow water to drain as it enters. All Ocean Kayaks have a removable molding plug in the bow should you get water inside of the molded hull itself. Often people will splash themselves with the paddle and some water may pool in the seat area. This is common to all sit on top kayaks.Answered on 5/19/2010 by kayakinandcampin from Menomonie, WI
Q:
What is this kayak made of?Asked on 4/28/2009 by jodyb from Flushing, MI2 answers
A:
Linear, Medium-Density, Polyethylene Construction
When considering kayak construction, the key is to find material that is neither too flexible or too stiff. Flexible material is less efficient, but harder to crack. Stiff material creates a more efficient hull, but is more brittle and easier to crack. Linear, medium-density polyethylene (PE) is virtually indestructable under normal use. Being somewhat flexible, PE gives on impact, which keeps it from cracking, but maintains its stiffness using Ocean Kayak's compound curves. Polyethylene is also very abrasion-resistant, but in the event you scratch or gouge your Ocean Kayak, linear PE is repairable. Ocean Kayak offers free weld rod and repair instructions should you ever need them. By making kayaks using polyethylene, Ocean Kayak is able to provide a great product at an affordable price!Answered on 6/1/2009 by Sarah Yakin from Southern IndianaA:
