I bought these sandals for an upcoming trip out West, and want to be sure I have stable footing as there will be a lot of walking on uncertain terrain. I am getting older, and a good shoe that stabilizes my walk and helps rather than hinders my gait is very important. I want to be able to keep up with the younger ones in my group, and not be limping by the end of the day. This sandal will fit the bill! It holds my foot snug, but not pinched, which will be great for uneven surfaces (plus good sole grip). It has great arch support for comfortable walking, is open so my feet can breath, and the sole is high enough that if I need to wear socks in colder mountain climbs they won't get so wet. Then when the trip is over I can wear them around town, because they look great! But, be sure to order a 1/2 size bigger. I didn't at first and had to return for an exchange because they were too snug in the toe area.

I was very happy with the delivery right to my door. When I wore them a bit, I decided I should have a 1/2 size bigger, as they did chafe in the toe area after having them on for awhile. And if I ever needed to wear socks with these sandals there would not be enough room. I called customer service since I wasn't sure how to go about exchanging them. The return slip that accompanied the shoes seemed to be about returns only. Since I ordered 2 different pairs in the same shipment, I was unsure how to delineate what it was I was trying to do. At any rate, the young lady on the phone was very helpful. She told me just how to fill out the slip to get what I wanted. By referencing my order # she knew just who I was, what I had ordered, and noted that a return was coming and what to send out in exchange. I received my larger sized pair within the week! All in all I was very happy with the entire encounter with Gander Mountain.

I work at a summer camp and had several co-workers recommend Keens. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 but was able to comfortably fit in a size 9.
