Comments about Action Boat Seat Spider™:

I use it on a small rental boat that does not have seats. The model available from Gander Mountain comes with the quick release for just a couple of bucks more. If you do the math and purchase the items separately you pay much more.

Purchased this to use on the casting deck of a 16' Carolina Skiff. Swivel seat base just slides in, no tools needed. I use it on the front casting deck while operating the trolling motor and in the back when operating the tiller steer main motor and on the dock when fishing from there. Will likely get another one!

Comments about Action Boat Seat Spider™:

A great alternative to traditional fixed posts. You can set them anywhere in the boat you like without having to permanantly mount them. No bases to trip over. No drilling and mounting to the floor. You can also use your seats on the dock or porch. Stable while under way. Foot pads could be better but overall very pleased.

Comments about Action Boat Seat Spider™:

I bought this for auxillary seating for my jon boat or to use the boat seats on a dock etc. and its serves that purpose well. It seems to be sturdy enough, but I wouldn't lean back in the seat much. I would like to see a bit wider spread on the legs, which would stick out from under the seat then, but make it more stable. Also I replaced the plastic caps on the bottom of the legs with 1" crutch tips. I think they should make that standard. The plastic tips fall off and aren't going to last long anyway. The crutch tips are bigger, stronger and don't slide around. Its not a bad deal since the "release a seat" bracket on its own is nearly $20.

How many inches between the legs of the seat?
Asked on 4/9/2009 by SS from Decatur, IL

              1 answer

              • A:

There are two different measurements for the distance between the legs because it does not make a completely perfect square, where the sides would all be the same. So the long sides are 18.5 inches apart and the short sides are 15.75 inches apart.

It dosn't mention one on the tag, but I would think 250#'s would near the limit on a good flat surface.
