For the money you may as well buy the premium steel loads, cut one open and you'll scream! Almost none of the shot is uniform, and the petals on the wads are cut crooked. In a 3" 1 1/4 load of # 2s, you'll have everything from #6s to #1s and most are deformed, flattend, not at all round shot. They'll work for birds at the 25 yard mark but if you wanna have consistent kills out to the 40 yard line invest in better quality shells.

Comments about Winchester Xpert 3" Shotgun Loads, 12-gauge:
I have purchased many "premium" shells and the Winchester Xpert 3" shell out performs them every time. My buddy shoots Remington Hevi-Shot and I get more birds every time we go. Maybe I'm just a better marksman but I believe the shells may have something to do with it. Also I rarely ever have a misfire with these shells

Comments about Winchester Xpert 3" Shotgun Loads, 12-gauge:
I don't understand the negative comments. I guide goose hunts as a side hobbie. I don't shoot until my customers are empty. I shoot a Benelli M2 with a mod choke. We consitantly kill greater Canada geese at 60 plus yards with these shells. They are great for geese and very affordable for someone on a budget.

Comments about Winchester Xpert 3" Shotgun Loads, 12-gauge:
My 2 Rem Sp-10 are now paperweights in the gun cabinets. This ammo in size 4 lays most ducks out W/1 shot to 50 yds. About 1/2 price of the 10 Ga shells. I would like to find 10 Ga shells in #4/Then i'd then take them for a boat ride out on the pond.

Certainly it depends on how far away you are and where you hit him . . . but if you are on target and within 40 yards, it will bring him down.Answered on 1/11/2010 by Team13 from Orlando, FL
