The classic design and dependability of the Winchester Model 1894 have made it one of the most famous firearms ever produced. The complex but reliable receiver mechanism was designed to permit the cycling of longer cartridges than previous Winchester rifles could permit. When the lever is pulled down, it brings the bottom of the receiver with it, opening up more space and allowing a longer cartridge to feed without making the receiver longer. Made to honor the legendary John Wayne, the Duke edition 94 features a deep cut, antique gold-plated receiver engraved with film scenes, gold barrel bands, a gold large loop, and a gold medallion embedded in the buttstock. There has been some damage to the rifle's buttstock, buttplate, and wooden display case. Over all, its wood and metal are in good condition and its bore is in very good condition.
