A slightly modified version of the Browning designed Model 1886, The Winchester Model 71 was a lever-action rifle introduced in 1936 and discontinued in 1958. The hard-hitting .348 cartridge was found to be very effective against North American big game. The Deluxe Model 71 has a checkered grip and forearm. This rifle features a hooded front sight, an aftermarket recoil pad, and a half-cock on hammer safety and has been drilled and tapped for side scope mounting. The rifle's hammer has been modified. Its wood and bore are in good condition and its metal is in very good condition.
