The most respected bolt-action rifle in the world, the Model 70 has earned the nickname, "The Rifleman's Rifle." It features a high-quality action of considerable strength, with 2 forward locking lugs and a Mauser-type non-rotating claw extractor. Unlike other rifles of the period, the Model 70 has a slot in the bolt face below the locking lug, leaving both forward locking lugs solid and stronger. This 1955-manufactured rifle has open sights with a Burr's base and a bolt safety. The rifle's stock has been refinished and is coming apart in a few places. Over all, its wood is in fair condition, its metal is in good condition, and its bore is in very good condition.
