A forebearer to the popular Model 70, was the first successful production run bolt action for the Winchester Firearms company and the start of legacy that is carried on today. Using a Mauser 98-type action with a non-detachable, 5-cartridge box magazine, the 54 was produced from 1925 until 1936. The Model 54's receiver is made from fine nickel steel and the stock features well-executed checkering. This rifle features a ramped front sight, an elevation-adjustable rear sight, and a 2-position safety. Its wood is in fair condition and its metal and bore are in good condition.
