The Model 1903 was the first commercially available semi-automatic firearm firearm made by the Winchester and the only rifle ever calibered for .22 Winchester Automatic ammunition. Winchester designed the rifle to fire their .22 Automatic rounds only to prevent shooters from gumming up the works with black powder ammo. The 1903 was used as a training rifle by the United Kingdom's Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force. The rifle is a takedown design with a blow-back operated loading mechanism. A tubular magazine in the 1903's buttstock holds 10 rounds of ammunition. This rifle features an adjustable Lyman aperture rear sight and a cross-bolt safety. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in good condition.
