The Winchester Model 1892, very similar in construction to the Winchester Model 1886, is one of the most famous lever-action rifles ever produced, with over a million manufactured. The 1892 is famous for its light weight, low recoil and responsive, easy handling. Its design much like a compact or carbine model of the famous 1886 and has the same dual, vertical locking system for impressive strength. The Winchester Model 1892 Large Loop Carbine is named for the large looped lever action that gives this 1892 a unique, antique feel. The rifle's stock is made of oil-finished, grade I walnut with a carbine-style forearm and a straight grip. The 16-inch round barrel is gloss blued and the receiver and tubular magazine are polished blued. Other features include a tang safety, a polished crescent buttplate, a Marble's gold bead front sight, and a Carbine ladder rear sight.
