The Browning Model 1885 is patterned after the original single shot rifle invented by John M. Browning in 1878 and produced by Winchester as the Model 1885 High Wall. The action has a tight, precise feel that differs greatly from repeater actions. Everything moves like a well-oiled machine and the sensation is more like operating a top-quality double shotgun than a typical bolt action hunting rifle. The 1885 Trapper Saddle Ring Carbine is a limited edition rifle. The rifle is built on a satin-finished English walnut stock with a steel buttplate. The 16-1/2" round barrel has a brass blade front sight with a ladder, carbine-style adjustable rear sight. A saddle ring is mounted on the left side of the receiver. This rifle's wood is in very good condition and its metal and bore are in excellent condition.
