Nothing is more representative of the opening of the American West and the early days of the Winchester Firearms brand than a single-shot rifle. It was a time when men of courage and vision and their Winchester rifles led the way and the Model 1885 offers a sense of that rich history. The 1885's simple falling block design is strong, reliable and accurate. The stock is constructed from grade I walnut with a satin finish, cut checkering, and a Schnabel forearm. The machined steel receiver is drilled and tapped for a tang sight and the receiver, lever, and BPCR-style buttplate are all case-colored. The 28-inch gloss blued barrel features a Marble's gold bead front sight.
