The Model 1200 slide action shotgun is a fine-shooting, well-balanced sporting firearm built of the finest materials and to the strictest precision manufacturing specifications with an engine-turned bolt for added beauty. Introduced in 1964 as a low-cost replacement for the venerable Model 12, the 1200 is a takedown shotgun and uses a smooth hammerless action. The Model 1200 was the first shotgun to utilize a rotary bolt with four locking lugs secured within the barrel extension, a design that helps neutralize any stress on the chamber caused by firing. The 1200 was also Winchester’s first shotgun to incorporate the company’s patented Winchoke system, a quick change tube to allow the easy replacement of chokes. This shotgun features an 18” barrel, a dovetailed blade front sight, a cross-bolt safety, and a fixed cylinder choke. The shotgun’s adjustable-style rear sight is missing its steps and will not adjust. Its wood and bore are in good condition and its metal is in fair condition.
