Comments about Weaver Detachable Top Mount Rings:

The design of this product is seriously flawed. There is a wide gap underneath the side that the tightening screws go through (no dedicated stop), making it VERY easy to over tighten and crush your scope tube. Like I just did. My set made a big old nasty dent in my scope tube, which I really didn't need. Also, it's very hard to tighten both screws together, equally. You tighten one, and the other loosen up. All because of the lack of a decent stop underneath. Save you money and buy either Burris or Leupold ring sets. Before you damage your scope!

These are X-high. Can you give me a height in in.or mm and tell me how the measurement is made... from where to where?

The height is 1 inch. The height is measured from the bottom of the ring to the underside where it would sit on the rail.

          • A:

Top of the weaver rail (bottom of the ring base) to the center of the tube bore. To find the bore center, lay a flat edge across the lower scope ring base half, and measure up to the middle from the ring base. A good chart is usually required to calculate in the objective diameter of your scope to determine the clearance needed. Some manufacturer's sites provide this for you.
