Introduced in 1970, the Weatherby Vanguard action (based on a Mauser-style, dual opposed lug design) takes many of its cues from the legendary Mark V action. It features a one-piece machined receiver, a fully enclosed bolt sleeve and three rings of steel surrounding the casehead. The Sub-MOA Vanguard features a fluted bolt body, a hinged floorplate, a cold hammer forged 24" barrel, and a factory-tuned fully adjustable trigger. Its pillar-bedded Fiberguard composite stock with Monte Carlo, raised cheekpiece and non-slip black spiderwebbing is lightweight and weather-resistant and features a Pachmayr Decelerator pad that reduces felt recoil. This rifle has a set of Weaver-style scope-mounting bases and a 3-position safety. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
