The Model 9 was Walther's attempt to produce the smallest .25 caliber vest pocket pistol in the world, while upholding the company's reputation for quality workmanship, accuracy, and reliability. With a design that followed logically from Walther's models 1 through 8, the Model 9 proved to be very successful and spawned a legion of imitators. The Model 9 hearkened back to the Model 1 with its striker spring, open-top slide, top-mounted extractor, and recoil spring situated beneath the barrel, but the Model 9 has a simpler design with fewer parts. The Model 9's slide is held on the gun by a clever dumbell-shaped bolt at the rear of the frame, the upper portion of which serves as a backstop for the striker spring. The bolt has a hole drilled in its upper portion through which the rearmost projection of the firing pin protrudes to indicate when the gun is cocked. This pistol features synthetic grips and low-profile sights comes with a 5-round magazine and the original factory holster. Its grips and metal are in good condition and its bore is in very good condition.
