Product Description

An unlimited field of view and eye relief allow the shooter to find targets easily and quickly line them up. This 30mm one-piece tube is nitrogen gas-purged for waterproof, fogproof operation. The dot can be changed from red to green for easy viewing. The intensity of the dot's brightness can be changed according to viewing conditions. The AR Strikefire comes with extra-high 30mm rings. Night vision compatible. Includes a 2x doubler, flip-up lens caps, and a CR2 battery. Weighs 7.2 oz.

I spent the better part of two entire weeks researching both online and hands on for a new red dot scope for my Rock River AR-15.Aimpoint was one of my top picks but the crazy price they are asking was far more than what I thought that product line was worth. I also looked into the EOTech line and found them also to be way out of reasonable price range based on scopes that are in line with same durability and features.After looking over tons of reviews on the Vortex StrikeFire I decided to give it a chance and bought one at gander mountain ( Also had a twenty dollar off code) making my cost roughly 130.00Very easy to install and level by first placing it in the rings and laying it on my gun to check for eye relief which is not a problem on these type of sights. i then removed it from the gun and laid it on a leveled table I checked with a torpedo level and then simply laid my level on top of the Vortex to make sure it also was level.I then tightened the rings down while still sitting on the table and then fastened to my gun.Once at my range I was quickly on paper at 25 yards and had it co-witness with ease with my iron sights on my AR. i then pushed my target out to 150yards and after three minutes of sighting in I was dropping 5 shots inside a half dollar size circle consistantly.great warranty which beats all others hands down and very accurate. The dots ( both green and red) are crisp and very easy to aquire with the eye.I fired over 100 rounds and the sight stayed true and never loosened.For the cost I would buy 4 more of these before I bought one aimpoint.My only complaint is the rubber lens caps. they take a bit of work getting them snapped on the lens but not a big issue.all in all i love this scope and it looks great sitting on my gun. battery life is great also.Save yourself some HUGE bucks and stay away from EoTech and aimpoint and get one of these with no regrets. Their no questions asked warranty for life is tops!

I purchased this scope to install on my AR-15. I wanted something that would give me the ability to shoot at both close targets and far targets without having to spend a ton of money on a scope and a magnifier. The Vortex Strikefire does a good job at this. I do wish that you did not have to screw in the magnifier. This prohibits me from switching from close targets to longer targets quickly. All in all, I am pleased with this product so far.

I am very satisfied with this sight. I was between this and an eotech.... But for the money this one is far better. I really like how you can switch b/t a red or green dot. I actually prefer the green dot.

Setup didn't take long... Sighting it in (roughly) didn't take long either.... Two rounds and I was done. A few more comments: co-witnessing with flip-up sights as advertised does work well, and you can definitely shoot with both eyes open with this sight.

I shoot a sig sauer m400 flat top model.

Very happy with this purchase.

Went on easy from the box and was on paper without bore sighting. Works great for fast targeting, but at longer ranges the large dot size is a disadvantage. The add on (screw on) magnifier is nice, but takes too much time to install and reduces your field of view. The optional swing away magnifier is almost as much as the optic itself!?

All said it is reliable and does have a lifetime warranty.

  this scope should be fine for the 556 sig the only thing is it would have to be mounted to the back of the rail, not as far forward as you can due to the area the shells are chucked out. "could get shell damage to scope".

  Pushing the power button turns the red dot on. If you push the power button again, it switches from red to green. Hitting the power button a third time turns the dot off completely.

  Yes there is. It is a side mount that replaces the flat metal plate on the off side (opposite side of the bolt handle) of the receiver. Gander DOES carry this mount which accepts standard weaver type rings.
