While this sending unit is advertised as being "universal" it will not fit every application. This unit has a pivot point at the top so if your tank is deeper than it is wide this sender will not work in your tank. The sender in my tank pivots half way down. Luckily the float was the only thing wrong with my old one so I was able to cut the float off of this sender and put it on my old one.

This was the third unit that I installed, but the first that was matched to the gauge. Float rod cut easy with dikes, and matched factroy hole patterns perfect. As noted by others, the instructions need to be reprinted in larger, cleaner type. Can be downloaded however.

Bought this to replace the old one I had, it lasted 2 months and read 1/2 tank, it wouldnt move from that. Checked the float, pulled it out and adjusted it out of the tank and still read 1/2 tank. I went out and bought Wema's electronic fuel sensor that replaces float styles and love it! Way more accurate and havnt had a problem.

Comments about Moeller Universal Electric Sending Unit For Gasoline:

I am absolutely surprised the company would send out such poorly printed directions (1/4 Pg). the print was so small it was almost black lines, try reading that in the sun. i had to wait until i could print full page direction from home off their web site. it didn't matter, the bag of parts was missing a clamp to attach the two (Yes two) rods together to create the desired length. i will install it this weekend. looks simple enough.

Comments about Moeller Universal Electric Sending Unit For Gasoline:

The directions have been photocopied and re-copied so many times and is so small they could not be read so you will have to get instructions from the web or your own knowledge. I was disappointed that the flange has a hole in the middle and the float and sensor is held in place by threaded rod and nut, would have been better if this was a solid connection...

What is the mounting hole pattern? b.h.c. or distance between holes center to center or is that a standard pattern? looks like my old sending unit has an (one hole off set) hole pattern. My tank is an AFP Model No. 122-18A-AF.

I have sending unit like universal one in pic. 5 screws on top hold it down on top of tank. 2 wires on top of unit, one in center and the other i don't know if it attaches to one of the mounting screws or if it matters which one. There is another 2 more smaller screws one seems to be broken off maybe thats is where I am getting water in the tank. Where do I attach the second wire on my sending unit?

Using an ohm meter, connect your test leads to the two posts on top of the sending unit. The display on your meter should vary between 33 - 240 ohms as you raise and lower the float.

I am installing this as a new installation on a kawasaki teryx utv with a plastic fuel tank. Is there a wiring diagrahm with the gauge or the sender? Or is it just a simple 12v to gauge and from gauge to sender and ground sender to frame?

It goes just as you said, 12v to gauge and a ground from the unit to the frame in your case. The lenth of the float is ajustable to fit the tank perfectly
