And if ever a gun deserves the title of "King," it is surely the blue and silver Single-Action .45 revolver-the weapon of choice for over a century among cowboys, lawmen, outlaws, men of the military, Western film stars and devoted firearms collectors. The skilled gunsmiths, etchers, and engravers commissioned by America Remembers have put the same excellence in to this firearm as Richard Petty himself puts into everything he does. The quality starts with the materials themselves: blued forged steel, hand-fitted faux ivory grips, and fine silver decoration. The embellishments commemorate Richard Petty and his outstanding career. His name and legendary number, 43, are inscribed on the left side of the barrel, while the right side is adorned with the title bestowed on him by adoring fans, "King Richard." The cylinder ridges are engraved with the years of Petty's Winston Cup wins, his legendadry profile is engraved on the rear frame, and his signature is incised on both grip panels. This revolver is #440 of only 1000 ever made and appears to be unfired. The handgun comes with the original engraved walnut presentation case. Its grips, metal, and bore are all in excellent condition.
