The original Sharps rifle, patented in 1848 by Christian Sharps, was known for its sturdy action, making them faster and easier to load than conventional muzzleloaders. Chambered in classic .45-70, all 1874 Sharps-replica Uberti rifles are true to the originals. All models of Uberti 1874 Sharps rifles feature a double-set trigger that allows the front trigger to be set to a very light pull weight, an aid to accurate shooting. The top tang on the Sharps receiver is drilled and tapped to accommodate the attachment of a Creedmore rear sight. The Special Sharps features a 32-inch octagonal barrel and a case-hardened receiver on a checkered pistol grip A-grade walnut stock.
