The 1866 Yellowboy lever-action rifle was a marked improvement over the Henry rifle, becoming one of the first true cowboy lever-action rifles. The Yellowboy had a convenient new type of loading gate that passed cartridges through the side of the receiver, making the lever action more functional and allowing for the installation of a wooden forend. Another design improvement of the 1866 Yellowboy was the addition of a satin walnut fore-end, embellished with a brass fore-end nose cap. This rifle features a front blade sight with an elevation-adjustable rear sight. Its wood is in good condition and its metal and bore are in very good condition.
