At the end of the day, this control is doing the job. If you plan to install this yourself, you must be prepared to figure a few things out yourself. The instructions are poorly written, and I found myself taking things apart, adjusting, and re-mounting.
I will also have to take it back apart once the neutral safety switch arrives via snail mail. This part was missing (listed in instructions as optional) and it took a day for Overton's to order from the manufacturer. It has been close to a week since I reported the item missing, and I still do not have it!
Beware of adjustments you may need to make after installation. I found that I had to adjust my remote control shift cable, due to this controller shifting differently than my original Quicksilver.
This item uses E-Clips (Circlips) to attach the cable adapters to the cable, and to the control. They only package enough to get the job done, and those little clips like to hide if you drop them. You may find that you need to pick up a few spares at the hardware store.
If you have a tilt switch (trailer switch) you will need to install your own momentary contact switch in addition to this control. The wiring diagram in the instructions was confusing / not accurate based on my old controller. I ended up connecting my new "trailer switch" and this control's switch the same way my old control switches were wired. This is working perfectly.

Comments about Uflex USA UFlex Single Lever Side-Mount Control For Mercruiser Stern Drives:
Instructions unclear. Requires a great deal of adjustment back at the engine shift actuator. Trim switch in the handle failed on third use leaving me unable to raise the tiller and trailer the boat (stranded-staying with the boat at the ramp all night) not to mention huge diagnostic issues locating the source of the problem. Plus the switch is sealed into the handle and cannot be replaced independently. I read a similar review from someone that experienced the same problems and disregarded it. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Comments about Uflex USA UFlex Single Lever Side-Mount Control For Mercruiser Stern Drives:
Installed this to replace Quicksilver Commander 3000. Ordered the "Merc" model for direct attachment to factory cables. Installation was not particularly difficult but pay attention to the instructions. Haven't had it on the water yet(the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars) but I can tell that the action is much smoother than the old one. Time will tell on how it holds up.
It definitely looks better.

I needed to get extenders for the cables. I think the extenders should be listed. I lost a week of use because of this. Other than that it seems to be functional.

Q:
I have a 1995 Rinker Captiva 190. Will this product require differnt cables and does the trim tab raise outdrive to trailer trim height.
Thank YouAsked on 5/6/2012 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
All of our control levers work with teleflex control cables and original equipment control cables. If your cables are original or teleflex brand you will be good to go. If they are not you will need to purchase the proper length teleflex control cables from us and possibly a connection kit for the motor.Answered on 10/1/2012 by Justin from Overton's

Q:
Does this have a trailering switch on it? I have one that has the trim and a trailering switch on it will it work?Asked on 6/9/2011 by Tom1 answer
A:
It does not. You will need to install your own trailering (tilt) switch and wire that and the controller trim switch the same way your old control was wired. I picked up a momentary contact push button switch at the hardware store for about $5, and mounted it near the control.Answered on 7/17/2012 by Andrew from Michigan

I have a 1994 Crownline 182BR with a 5.0 L Volvo Penta. Will this work in my boat? Also would I need to get different cables?Asked on 4/12/2011 by Jeff from Nolensville, TN1 answer
A:
This lever works with original equipment and teleflex cables. As long as you have teleflex brand cables or the original factory installed cables this lever will replace your existing lever.Answered on 6/8/2011 by Justin from Overtons
Q:
I purchased a used 2001 Suzuki DF-115 4 stroke. I need a new throttle, cable, ignition, and trim setup. The engine came with nothing and my mercury throttle controls are no good. Please advise on a setup. Thanks.Asked on 11/13/2009 by Matt from Irvine, CA1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Well I know for sure that you can not use this throttle lever because you have a Suzuki and this is for mercruiser. You should call our technical department for assistance because we need to ask you some questions that would need to be answered before we recommend parts for your engine. If you have similar questions as to what is compatible with your engine we really would rather you call 1-888-683-7866 because this is not a big enough platform for extensive assistance, which could be what this requires. Please call our technical staff at the number above for more information.Answered on 11/23/2009 by Overton's from Technician
Q:
I have a 1985 Concord Mach II with a Mercruiser 260 I/O. My current lever is a QuickSilver, will this replace the current lever without any major modifications?Asked on 11/9/2009 by Marty from Ball Ground, GA1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This will replace any lever connected to a mercruiser engine that is using the original equipment cables. Just meaning that your control cables are the original cables that were installed by the factory that made the boat or have been replaced with the same cables that were originally on the boat. As long as you fit those two guidelines there should not be any modification that you have to do.Answered on 12/23/2009 by Justin from Overton's Technician
