it is a good release. dont care for the velcro but it is what it is. the triger is a bit touchie, but mostly on the draw, keep your finger away from it and it is not all that touchie.. but it dont take much for it to release. it did take a little getting used to. but all and all good price and good to learn with.. I would say its a starter release. or good back up

Noisy when pulling back bow
Overall it is a good release but it makes a noise when pulling back and it spooks deer its worth the price. If you are going to hunt for years get a good one.

Comments about Tru-Fire® Patriot Wrist Strap:
This a great entry level release. I am sure there may be better releases but this one does the job. It is adjustable to 2 different lengths. Easy to put on and take off.

Comments about Tru-Fire® Patriot Wrist Strap:
this is a great release for the price. you could get a 80 dollar release that is not as good as this release. The sensitivity of the release is perfect because you dont need to pull with force on the trigger only pull relaxingly on it and it will le the arrow do its job. GET THIS RELEASE.

Comments about Tru-Fire® Patriot Wrist Strap:
The Patriot release is the best for its price. My neighbor has a Scotts and the wrist strap is flimsy, the Patriot wrist strap is not over bulky.. Adjusting the trigger pressure as a cinch, just made sure with an old shoe string it wouldn't prematurely release. Instructions were very clear, and easy to follow for adjustments. I will recommend this product to friends and family.

Q:
is this good for a begginer?Asked on 6/6/2009 by Anonymous4 answers
A:
Yes, its great for begginers, because when i started bowhunting i didn't want to spend a lot of money on a release. So I went to Gander Mtn.and got this one, and as soon as I got home I tried it out and worked just as good as the real spendy ones.its also very comfortable and easy to use. I would definatly recomend it for begginersAnswered on 9/13/2009 by Kell-bell, deer slayer from Bemidji MNA:
Yes this is a good release for a beginner! Great price, it IS a lil noisy. Haven't pulled back on a bow in twenty years let alone with a mech. release and within 10-15 mins. was shooting like i had never stopped.Answered on 11/16/2009 by Hounddog 1 from Bristol,TN.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
The price is good if you aren't looking to make a big investment, but I found it way to touchy and was afraid it would release. I have another Tru-Fire release that I like, but I would not go with this one.Answered on 9/17/2009 by Paul from Hibbing, MNVERIFIED BUYER
