Q:I have a beautiful deer visiting my back yard and would like to provide something for it. Does this mineral rock just sit on the ground? Are they able to nibble off of it or should I get a hanging feeder & fill it w/deer corn. Thank You!Asked on 10/4/2009 by Judy from Hinesville, GA
A:Just get a feeder and fill it with corn. Or just dump it on the ground. Beacause the rock dose not work.Answered on 10/12/2009 by Matt from Smithville Flats, NY
A:Yes just put it on the ground the deer will love the trophy rock. They would love the corn also.Answered on 6/8/2012 by Bigbucks from Longs SC
A:The rock just sits on the ground, just make a small bowl on flat ground. Bowl keeps all the run off in one area,They mainly lick rock so It lasts pretty long. Once rock is gone alot stays in ground, they'll probaly start digging a hole in ground to get what's left in ground.A feeder couldn't hurt I use them w/ corn and the only down side is that they need to be filled about every week or two depending on your spreed settings.Hope this helps!Answered on 4/2/2010 by buckrutz from kentucky
Just place it on the ground in an area where you want the deer to visit...but beware that the frequency of the visits and number of deer could increase significantly. They might be able to chip pieces off but mostly they just lick it. See the picture I have posted in my review of the product. That is what the rock looked like after only 6 months in the woods.Answered on 7/9/2010 by K2Hunter from Frederick, MD
A:Put it on the ground and let them enjoyAnswered on 10/19/2009 by Wildboar from Wausua,WI
A:I put it on the ground and after a few days have deer, elk, and moose feeding on it. A white salt block from a feed store works the same, but then you have to look a the white block.Answered on 10/26/2009 by Charlie from Colorado
A:you can place directly on the ground but best if set on top of a stump.Answered on 11/9/2009 by Hogman from Harrison, AR
A:Be careful to avoid touching the rock and getting your scent on it. Handle with wrapping attached and scrape a place clean on the ground (I use my tractor loader to scrape down to fresh dirt.) and place directly on the soil. Carefully cut the wrapping with your knife and peel away without touching the rock. The deer will find it and lick and/or bite. It won't take long for it to disappear. Good luck!Answered on 11/9/2009 by findermike from Central Missouri hunter
A:Just put on ground only thing they will dig into the ground and make a hole where the rock is.Answered on 1/11/2010 by moulie from York Pa.
A:just put on bare spot about 4ft wide, they will lick it but mostly they will lick ground around it as it starts to dissolve from rain will cause a hole in ground after awhile,i put up feeders to.Answered on 4/16/2010 by hunt123 from va
A:The Trophy Rock is a mineral supplement and it is all you need to keep them comming back. If your area does not have alot of forage for the deer then you can supplement it with corn if you wish.Answered on 5/19/2010 by The gun & cam hunter from South Jersey
