Have used this for two years and both years have had the same results. The deer will not touch it.
It tried dumping corn and apples right on it. They ate the corn around it but would not come near it. I have several pictures to show this. It dissolves after a few months of rain and never gets used. Have never got a picture of a deer even thinking about touching this thing.

Animals use it a lot. Lots of deer as well as other critters seen using it on trail cam. Lasts the better part of the season before it is finally licked away or washed away by rain.

I use these from early spring thru fall with game cameras, minerals help does nursing fawns and with buck antler development. Deer love em especially early spring - great product!!

Been using trophy rocks at two different locations on our 120 acre property for the past 5 years or more. Usually replace each one at least twice sometimes 3 times thruout the year because the deer lick them down to nothing. I don't use these as bait, that's illegal, besides have food plots all over the property. Seeing bigger racks over the years, hopefully these have something to do with it. Only thing that bums me out is the company itself downsized these from 14 to 16 lbs a couple years back to their current 10 to 12 lb size...same price of course...You hear a bird? cheap cheap cheap? :)

I have a beautiful deer visiting my back yard and would like to provide something for it. Does this mineral rock just sit on the ground? Are they able to nibble off of it or should I get a hanging feeder & fill it w/deer corn. Thank You!

  The rock just sits on the ground, just make a small bowl on flat ground. Bowl keeps all the run off in one area,They mainly lick rock so It lasts pretty long. Once rock is gone alot stays in ground, they'll probaly start digging a hole in ground to get what's left in ground.A feeder couldn't hurt I use them w/ corn and the only down side is that they need to be filled about every week or two depending on your spreed settings.Hope this helps!

  Just place it on the ground in an area where you want the deer to visit...but beware that the frequency of the visits and number of deer could increase significantly. They might be able to chip pieces off but mostly they just lick it. See the picture I have posted in my review of the product. That is what the rock looked like after only 6 months in the woods.

  Be careful to avoid touching the rock and getting your scent on it. Handle with wrapping attached and scrape a place clean on the ground (I use my tractor loader to scrape down to fresh dirt.) and place directly on the soil. Carefully cut the wrapping with your knife and peel away without touching the rock. The deer will find it and lick and/or bite. It won't take long for it to disappear. Good luck!
