I searched for a lock for my boat trailer and this one looked great. I have had it for the last 2 weeks and no one has stolen my boat, so I guess it is working! It looks meaty and tough and goes along with 2 other locks that I have on my trailer!

I use this product to secure my boat trailer. It is advertised to "achieve maximum security" for your boat trailer. It doesn't! All you have to do is to jack the trailer up,remove the tire that you have put the wheel chock on and put on another tire and in a couple of minutes off you go. To make it totally secure you need to replace one of the wheel lugs with a locking lug so that you can't remove the wheel with the chock on it, or have a covering on the chok so that you can't remove any of the wheel lugs. Then you can "achieve maximum security".

Comments about Trimax TCL65 Wheel Chock Lock:
This product works great to protect my boat and trailer. It sure beats trying to feed a chain through the tire rim to secure the trailer. I wish I had seen this product much earlier.

I have used locks like this for our boat trailer when traveling. I really like how easy this unit is to use and install. It seems to be well made and works as expected. The bright color makes it easy to see and remind you that it is there when coming out in the morning. It was a good purchase.

Q:
what prevents one from removing and replacing the wheel?Asked on 4/25/2011 by efry849 from Wisconsin1 answer
A:
Most likely if you don't camp out on your trailer with a 50 Cal machine gun someone can take the trailer even if the wheels are locked on. All they have to do is lift the entire trailer onto a flat bed.
Get real!! Nothing will stop someone determined to steal. A lock is to pose a stall situation. I cannot imagine someone raising up a trailer, removing the wheel and replacing it with another. It takes to much time and causes probable attention.
Just go buy some locking lug nuts!!
The add does not say it deters other methods of theft.Answered on 3/17/2012 by Mike from free2be4unme@yahoo.com
