It was easy to install, and I left my old jack on my trailer. I imagine that someone would want to take it. The nice thing is that it is compact in size and light enough to toss into the garage once hitched. But it does tilt up if you want to leave it on there. The real use for me is backing my trailer back into my side yard. Before I had to come in at a jack knife angle, since it's so narrow, but now I can get it close, unhitch and crank it back in while adjusting the angle via the trailer valet. Plus the brake lets me go back and put down the tire chucks.

The bad things are if I was going up the whole driveway, my arm would get tired from cranking, it wouldn't work on a large toy hauler since it's weight limit is 5K lbs, but that's great for my 19' utility trailer.

Compared to other trailer movers that are motorized, this is way way more affordable and safer imo.

I am dissatisfied with this but my situation may not match yours: I live on a barrier island off North Carolina's east coast. The salt air has done a job on the finish of my dolly though that's hardly unique. What I can't get around is that I have a slightly sloped marl driveway and the dolly wheel just digs a hole. Useless for me. Also converting from trailering position to operating position is a minor hassle.

That being said, on the few occasions where I found myself on a solid finished surface such as concrete or asphalt: it worked perfectly. If I had a paved driveway I'd keep it and be very happy with it. As that's not my situation, I uninstalled it and went back to the old way of moving my boat: muscular strain.

So would I recommend this to a friend? That depends on whether his driveway was paved or not.

When originally received, tires would not hold air. Contacted customer service and they immediately shipped 2 new tires and tubes. Everything works as advertised. I wish I had found this years ago. It's a real back saver.

Comments about Trailer Valet Jack / Dolly:

I only have 4 inches total side clearance to get my bass boat in and out of the garage, making it hard to move in and out with my truck, also my drive way is on an incline so can't just roll the 3000 lb boat in an out, but with the trailer valet I can move the boat easly. Once I get it hooked to my truck I just pull the pin slip off the dolly and leave it in the garage, so it doesn't get stolen at the launch ramp.

Comments about Trailer Valet Jack / Dolly:

Great product but mine came with the wrong tires. Supposed to have 85psi and mine had 45psi. Contacted customer service and have not heard a thing back. That ticks me off. The trailer valet does make putting your boat away very easy when you have a tight space. Overall a very good product just poor customer service.

Trailer Valet Jack/Dolly by Trailer Vale

      • Not Great In Sandy Soil

      • Boat Trailer On Asphalt
      • RV

Comments about Trailer Valet Jack / Dolly:

I use it to relocate a 3000 lb boat on a boat trailer while in the yard. It is simple to use and effectively moves the boat and trailer as long as it is on cement or asphalt but once it goes into the sandy ground of Cape Cod the tire sinks in and spins. A wider tire or additional tires might solve this problem.
