I was a little skeptical about these boots at first bc i've heard that the quality of hiking boots made by Timberland have gone down hill. That couldn't be further from the truth! The quality of the construction and materials is excellent! Has a true Gore Tex liner also. I bought these boots for an Elk Hunt in Colorado so i will need these for the 5-15 miles of hiking per day. I think i made an excellent choice for being on a strict budget. Definately take some time to break these in for extreme comfort so you don't get blisters when the your on your adventure.

One of the most comfortable boots i have ever owned. IF you plan on making a long term investment on a everyday wear boot though look elsewhere. I wore these boots everyday and they are starting to fall apart. If your gentle on them though they will go a long way and are very, very comfortable.

Great right out of the box. Once in awhile the top lace will slip over the top of the tongue.

Comments about Timberland® Men's Chocorua GTX Mid Hiker:
Great boot. The leather wears nice and is waterproof. If your considering something else remember these have true waterproof (goretex) and even some higher end shoes that say "waterproof" are only treated with a waterproof coating.

Comments about Timberland® Men's Chocorua GTX Mid Hiker:
My husband is training (long hikes on difficult terrain) for a 12-day Boy Scout Camp next summer (Philmont), in New Mexico. He found the boots immediately comfortable, with great support and durability.

Comments about Timberland® Men's Chocorua GTX Mid Hiker:
The most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I work on gravel 6 days a week 12 hours a day. My feet use to always hurt until I purchased these boots. Great traction a comfort. And no break in need. The only two flaws are the laces don't last and the boot itself wears easy.

Q:
I recently purchased these boots in the Kingston , NY location
I wore them for the first time yesterday in the snow and ice and I am not sure they are waterproof my feet wear cold and wet. Are there two versions of this boot mine only says gore tex and not waterproof like the one in the picture.Asked on 12/14/2009 by Anonymous from Kingston , Ny1 answer
A:
Goretex is a trademarked waterproof coating that is advertised far too often... If water is getting through, maybe they didn't coat everything. But it's probably coming in through the top and you're expecting it to repel water like a magnet, or your feet are sweating while wearing cotton socks. Get wool socks, your feet will be warm even if wet.Answered on 12/24/2009 by tim from virginia
