tilley The classic T3 Hat is built with the Tilley Hat fabric that started it all - cotton duck. This rain-repellent and mildew-resistant, preshrunk 10-oz., 100% cotton fabric is derived from an incredibly durable sailcloth that is still used in boating today. The T3 is designed with a medium brim that snaps up on both sides, a dark underbrim for glare protection, a secret pocket for storing small personal items, and ventilation grommets to keep you cool in warmer weather. This feature-rich hat offers excellent sun protection with a UPF 50+ rating, is machine-washable, won't shrink, ties on in the wind, and it floats, too! Each hat is handsewn using super-strong thread, and all seams are lock-stitched so they won't unravel. Tilley Hats are guaranteed for life not to wear out and are insured against loss. 2-3/4" brim in front and back; 2-3/8" brim on the sides. Weighs 5.4 oz. Imported.

        A big wide brim to keep the sun and rain out of my eyes. Two tie cords, so it stays on when I'm cycling or in the wind. A layer of closed-cell foam; it's not safety gear, but it cushioned me from a light knock on the head, and it floats. If you manage to wear it out, Tilley and co will send you a new one for nearly-free.

        The Tilley hat, in all its colours, sizes and other variations, is the result of Alex Tilley's personal journey to make the ideal hat for him, which turns out to have some really useful features. You don't even have to worry about it shrinking in the wash, because the material is pre-shrunk. I've had my Tilley for two years and wish I had bought it sooner. They may seem expensive, but are worth the price.

          I've had mine for 20 years now. Still in great condition. Got stolen once early on and Tilley replaced free of charge. Unbelievable. Gets rigid when wet. Best had in the world.
