Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Thompson/Center Venture Centerfire Rifle:

This is a very good entry level rifle. It feels rigid in your hands, just a solid feel. The rubber grips are a nice touch, good and sticky. I picked this gun up for $474.99 and after a $75 mail in rebate from the manufacturer this is a hard gun to beat for $400. I put a Leupold VX1 3x9x40 on this 30-06 rifle and the first three shots at the range at 100 yard I could cover with a quarter (using bench). Kick is not as bad as I expected, I shot 20 rounds and no soreness. A couple things I do not like about this rifle are the magazine and the safety. The magazine is a plastic 3 round, it would be nice if it could hold 4 rounds and be made of metal. It is also a little tough to get out of the rifle. The safety switch on this rifle is a two position, the drawback of this is when it is on safety you can still operate the bolt risking opening the action if the bolt catches on your clothes or branches etc. 3 position safety would have been great. All in all this is a great rifle for the price and I believe this rifle can perform with the best, and with the low cost spend the savings on a nice piece of glass. This rifle should have no problem putting venison in my freezer, no more blaming the rifle when I miss deer now!

Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Thompson/Center Venture Centerfire Rifle:

I bought the T/C venture in 30-06 yesterday and took it out to the range today. The accuracy guarantee is 100% I shot Winchester power point 180 grain and the holes were touching at 100 yrds. The trigger is awesome, mine came adjusted to the lowest setting and is very crisp no creep at all. The recoil is amazing, I was wondering how it was going to be and my 270 remington with 130 grain kicks harder. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the magazine is a little sticky taking out of the gun. Im thinking with a lil use and a good cleaning it may get better. Plus the $50 rebate and lifetime warranty!!

Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Thompson/Center Venture Centerfire Rifle:

this firearm is great at the range i got under one inch groups at 100 yrds nice recoil pad trigger is nice and positive crisp the only reason it diddent get a 5 star rating is the magazine i think it is poor construction i had a little trouble with it but i was able to fix it at the range its too bad t/c made such a nice rifle and had what i belive is a poor design on the magazine i will probably buy a spare mag about $30.00 dollars from what i understand . also have a t/c encore really like it. t/c is very good product and yes i would recommend it to anyone.
