Since the first Contender pistol was made in 1967, it has been the choice of serious handgun hunters throughout the world. The reputation this pistol has achieved in terms of its versatility, minute of angle accuracy and proven long-range performance is unquestioned. The Contender's interchangeable barrel system allows shooters to easily adapt their firearm to a variety of different calibers. In addition, the Contender frame has two firing pins, and a selector on the exposed hammer, to allow the shooter to choose between rimfire or centerfire firing pins, or to select a safety position from which neither firing pin can strike a primer. This single-shot pistol set includes two 14-inch barrels calibered for .45 Long Colt/.410 bore and .223 Remington ammunition respectively. The .223 Remington barrel has sights while the .45 LC barrel has a ventilated rib. The handgun itself features a hammer block safety and a rubber Pachmayr grip and includes an original factory box for each barrel. Its grip, metal, and bore are all in excellent condition.
