Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Power Rod:

This tool works as advertised. Caution if you use a smokeless powder muzzle loader. Because of the severe resistance you encounter with sabots in a smokeless muzzle loader, this ramrod might flex more. T-handle is comfortable to use and sturdy.

P.S. Hunter, the first reviewer, is an idiot!

Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Power Rod:

This is a great product for any serious smoke pole hunter....the other comment on here says the cleaning JAG wont fit into the rod holder on the gun....thats because it's not supose to, your not supose to put the cleaning jag into the rod holder, the cleaning jag is only for cleaning and not ment to be carried around all the time......this is a loading and cleaning rod...and it works great.

I've bought 2 of these for different guns

Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Power Rod:

This rod replaces a straight rod that came with my Encore, which I also wisely bought from Gander Mountain. I like that the T-handle indexes on a ball detent, and clicks authoritatively into place upon opening or closing so it doesn't flop around when loading, nor does it rattle when stored in the ramrod channel of the rifle. Mostly, I love that I no longer need the T/C Flex Priming Palm Saver, so I can just carry 3 tubes of powder, another tube with 3 bullets and a loading tip, and a T/C Primer Caddy in my cheek pad/comb riser buttstock pouch. No more pocket mining or "possibles" pouches to juggle with on stand. My rifle, loaded & with 3 rounds in reserve, is now a self-contained system. The palm saver went on the T/C OEM rod which now serves as a range rod. However, it would be nice if T/C could slightly shorten this rod, and update the rifle's rod retention system, to accommodate a bullet guide tip/cleaning jag into the rod channel of the forend, without leaving the fold-out T-handle forward of the muzzle where powder blast pits and burns the finish. My loading tip doubles as a cleaning jag; using Blackhorn 209 powder, there is no good reason why I should have to remove the jag/tip before storing the rod, other than as necessitated by the rod channel's & thimbles' diameter and the rod's length. If I didn't have to mess with installing & removing that tip, with either gloved or half-frozen hands (your only 2 choices in Iowa's late muzzleloader season), reloading in the field would be a lot less cumbersome. Meaning, dropping the jag/tip from a tree stand into a foot of snow at twilight would never again cause the muffled utterance of muted expletives all the way down a ladder and through the hands-and-knees-by-flashlight search for that peanut-sized, critical missing part.

Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Power Rod:

i use this rod in the field. I like it alot. i have a t handle at my fingertips. i think it is a bit too short, but that is my own fault for ordering one that is a bit short. it still works good for loading. but as for cleaning, i still use my old rod. but all in all i would recommend this product. the price is a bit steep for this product. thanks.

      Service and delivery comments:

very quick shipping, free shipping. i ordered one weekend before xmas and got it before i went hunting the next weekend.

      • Jag wont fit in rod holde

Comments about Thompson/Center Arms Power Rod:

I recently purchased this power rod by tc, the folding handle is a great idea works great on my tc encore on the range, there is one problem ,
when the loading jag is threaded onto power rod
it will not slide into the rod holder on my tc
with the "T" handle folded straight it is too large to fit into the rod holder, this is not in-tened for field use if a quick second shot is needed, you would have to store the rod without a loading jag remove the rod from the holder and screw in the loading jag then reload your gun
