Comments about Gear Aid Tenacious Tape:
purchased this product for tent rip in an older tent. Tenacious tape is heavier in thickness then the Kenyon taffeta tent repair K-tape which is also excellent for tent bow-loop repair..(also available in colors.) Tenacious clear tape patched my 20 yr. old Eureka tent tear that I wanted to conseal. (some stores may possibily have it in the manufactured five basic colors) It lives up to its name and stays put. Round your corners of the patch as instructed, and apply pressure from the center of the tear outward to eliminate air bubbles or creases. Take your time, this stuff sticks where you put it. After the tent repair, I used it on the inside of my nylon windbreaker jacket I tore on a branch, and it made the tear almost unnoticeable. This is strong agressive tape that is made in the USA. (figures) It could be used for emergency repair on inflatables, tents, sleeping bags, packs, boots, and rain clothing. Packed in the plastic tube the size of a lipstick case, (rolled up tape is 20 x 3 inches) It's a must have to take with you back-packing or camping for most any spot repair. I keep a tube of it rolled up in the tent pouch, so I never forget it. Gander Mtn. offered a three pack of clear tenacious tape at the most reasonable price I could find on the web. Now I keep one at home, one in my tent pouch, and one in my motorcyle touring saddlebag. No more packing that big roll of duct tape that has sticky adheasive in hot weather. Being "tenacious", naturally your going to need small sissors or your sharp camp knife to cut your patches from the roll. Great stuff in an emergency, small, lightweight, works great on vinyl, plastics, breathable fabric & netting. Don't go camping without it.
