Comments about Unified Telescoping Flag Pole for Diver Down Flag:
The seller doesn't mention that if your stern light is an old style, this product works great. If you have a stern light that is locked in with a collar then you need to get a collar to go with the flag pole. I call Seasense and they said if I bought the pole and needed the collar they would send it to me free of charge.

I READ ALL OF THE BAD REVIEWS, AND THE REASON THEY FLY OFF, IS BECAUSE THIS FLAG POLE IS NOT FOR USE WHILE UNDERWAY. IT IS DESIGNED TO BE USED AS A DIVER DOWN FLAG POLE, NOT AS YOUR GOING 40MPH DOWN THE LAKE.

Comments about Unified Telescoping Flag Pole for Diver Down Flag:
I gave as gift to my husband with WVU flag. Proudly put on boat and started out on a little ride. Looked back as we started off, it looked great. After we docked I noticed it was gone. Now after reading the other reviews I see they have a real problem. Glad it wasn't just us.

Comments about Unified Telescoping Flag Pole for Diver Down Flag:
I had read the only review posted on this site about this product which said he had lost the flag pole after 1 mile.... I thought it might have been a bad experience so I purchased it anyway. I installed it Saturday and took it out for a run on the water and after 5 minutes I looked back and it was gone. BIG DISAPPOINMENT. Bad DESIGN.

Comments about Unified Telescoping Flag Pole for Diver Down Flag:
I gave this a try anyway despite the negative review. I thought I could doctor up the post to lock in place tightly so it wouldn't fly out. The pole actually comes with a locking device but it is clearly not strong enough to hold the pole while underway. This was gone within 15 seconds of hitting the throttle. It looks nice in the harbor, but not worth the investment without being able to pull away from the dock flying Old Glory. Darn.

Q:
What is the diameter of the pole where it goes into the socket?
I do not yet have a socket and wondered if it would fit your 3/4" socket
