teleflex An outstanding value in replacement steering systems, the "Rack" comes with a back-mount design for simple installation. The "Rack" is recommended for single engine, power-assisted outboards up to 24' with up to 16" steering wheels. 4.0 turns lock-to-lock. Standard 3/4" tapered shaft. Heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant construction meets NMMA requirements and ABYC safety standards. Available in 9' - 18' lengths.

                Product is good now that it was made to fit. Once I got the old one removed, I had to file and sand down the shaft to fit through the hole in the motor. The old shaft slid fine through it, but small imperfections or high spots in the now shaft caused it to bind up when going through the motor hole. Other than that, very happy with product, works fine now, and good guidance on the website as to what length to order.

                              You need to know if you have rack and pinion or a rotary system. Also, what length cable and if it is no feed back or not. They are all after market, none are year make and model specific.

                              In the center of the steering wheel there should be a cap that pops off. Then there will be a nut that just unscrews. That should help if not please call our Tech Department 1-888-683-7866.

                              This is a replacement rack and pinion steering system, so if your boat uses a rack and pinion steering system then this will replace it. You will need to measure the old steering cable sheath, the middle black part only, to find the length cable you need. Please round the measurement of the old cable up to the nearest foot.

                              No. You have to know whether you have a rack and pinion or a rotary steering system and measure your boat for the length of the steering cable that you need it to come with for either type of system.
