This No FeedBack System locks out the steering loads which cause hard-to-handle steering. Take advantage of Teleflex steering and rediscover the joys of boating. With precise rack-n-pinion steering, the No Feedback Rack system isolates the operator from considerable steering loads of today's high horsepower outboards. This unique rack system will replace standard Teleflex Rack without dash modification, while the back-mount design provides for easy installation. Fits single non-power-assisted outboards up to V-4 at speeds to 50 mph. 4.0 turns lock-to-lock. Standard 3/4" tapered shaft. Meets NMMA requirements and ABYC standards.

Being the world's worst mechanic I was reluctant to tackle the replacement of the steering cable on my 1983 Monte Carlo Ski Boat. The old cable came out easy, the parts were easy to order, arrived on time, and were easy to install. The directions could have been a little more detailed to help the novices, but overall a very positive experience. The boat now steers like a dream. Please note that ordering just the cable (instead of the kit) could be a mistake. The mounting holes may not match up on some boats. I ordered the kit and was glad I did. Overtons price was lower than local marinas.

  No they do not. That is specific to every engine and this system can be used on most all engines.

We have a 16 ft. boat and the steering with this system is stiff and hard to start the wheel turning, particularly with one hand.

  A:
  There is no adjustment that you can make on the cable, but one possibility could be that the rod end of the cable that connects at the motor end could need lubrication. You could try the cable buddy lubrication system to help keep the rod lubricated and that may solve the problem. The part number is 26063 and the lube fluid is part number 26067. type those numbers into he search box and see if that would work for you.

  You probley neen a new sterring cable. Mine waqs hard so i had to replace. Check to see what kind of steering unit you have. You may be able to buy just the cable and not the whole unit.
