tecomate Ultra Forage is formulated to be a fast-growing, highly attractive annual mix for small woodland "hunting plots." And does it ever work! Tecomate has combined several proven legumes-peas, vetch and clovers-with chicory and specially selected brassicas, including a sensational new rape/turnip hybrid that produces both prime forage and highly preferred bulbs. The brassicas are most attractive during hunting season, when "frost-curing" causes the sugar content and palatability of their leaves to significantly increase and when the rape/turnip hybrid's sugar-laden bulb matures. The result of these specially selected cultivars is a mix that explodes out of the ground and draws in bunches of deer... fast! 9 lbs. covers 1 acre.

        planted a few weeks ago after putting some fertilizer down and some rain a few days after i put the seed down. i went back a week or so after i planted it and the plot was already beginning to come up

            I used this product on a small 1/4acre hunting food plot. I limed and fertilized properly after two seperate applications of weed killer two weeks apart. I planted it in a little bit of a low spot on the edge of a cypress swamp. If germinated quickly, and grew to no less than 10" tall. The deer were in the food plot within 3 weeks of planting, but after the first cold snap. The deer wouldn't stay out of it. I will be planting this again this fall.

                An excellent food plot that I use in the woods near my tree stand.I use 10 40lb bags of top soil and lightly spread out the soil and sprinkle the seed and pour water over the seeds which allows the seed to quickly germinate.Produces huge leaves that draws deer after a frost.
