First I got this back for it's medium size and the fact it is relatively simple yet advanced. Not a ton of pockets and little confusing storage areas yet it holds everything a hunter needs. Holds an ample amount of water and keeps your back cool. The tree strap is great and for the hunters who have a climber, while your headed into your spot you can use that same tree strap to throw around your climber stand when it's on your back. Speed and quiet is key for me so it makes a great bag and the aluminum frame is an added bonus. Only reason it got 4 stars is it missing a couple of key things for me. It needs the rifle or bow carry accessory that can be found on the next size bigger bag. I would also prefer to see a fold out or add and remove orange flag or square on the back. The chest strap slider system is weak and they will pull off with medium force. This stuff does not make or break the bag though, I do not buy a new pack every couple of years so I expect it to last and take that into consideration before every hunting gear purchase. After a lot of consideration this pack comes out on top.

The pack is well made and comfortable to wear. Materials are top notch and very quiet. However, I like to carry binoculars and a Nikon digital SLR camera as well as survival and after-the-shot gear. The internal frame straps curve into the pack so severely that use of the main compartment is very limited. Getting the camera in and out was a major effort. The pockets on the waist band are not large enough to hold a compass, light, and GPS...items I want at hand in the woods. If those problems could be corrected, it could be a great pack.

Comments about Gander Mountain TecHunter™ GX3 Speed Hunter Pack:
I was looking to replace my old hunting pack with a pack that was less bulky and had more support for meat packing. I wanted one that would hold my day hunting gear and also have room to carry that first load of meat back to camp then use my pack frame for the rest. This pack worked perfect for that. Took in a hind leg of my elk this year and saved a trip. It's also comfortable on your back.

Comments about Gander Mountain TecHunter™ GX3 Speed Hunter Pack:
I think this is a very good pack for what I use it for which is hunting. I used it this year for a CO Elk hunt and it had ample storage for being out in the field all day. It's a comfortable pack even though it is a little on the heavy side even empty. The metal frame though it what probably adds some of the weight. However, that frame also keeps it raised from your back so you get good air flow and don't start sweating which is nice when hunting in mountains with cooler temps. The only things I would like to see would be a blaze orange pull-out flap in the back for when hunting (I ended up tying some orange flagging on the back). It would also be nice to have the option to get an accessory to hold a rifle on the back. One other thing, be mindful when using it in temps below 32 degrees. If you have the drinking tube pulled out, it will freeze on you. I would suggest storing it completely in the pack so it has some insulation, then pulling it out to drink when needed. That makes it kind of a pain since you have to remove the pack, but it's better than having it freeze and not being able to get water through the tube.

Comments about Gander Mountain TecHunter™ GX3 Speed Hunter Pack:
SHOPPED AROUND FOR THE PERFECT PACK FOR MONTHS AND FOUND IT WITH THIS PACK. HAD ALL THE RIGHT "STUFF" I WAS LOOKING FOR. JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF POCKETS SO YOU DON'T GET LOST LOOKING FOR STUFF. SIDE POCKETS TO HOLD WATER BOTTLES (DON'T CARE FOR THE BLADDER BUT IT IS INCLUDED WHICH IS A BONUS.) STRAPS MAKE SENSE TO SECURE MEAT BAG OR EXTRA GEAR TO OUTSIDE OF PACK IF NEEDED. THE ONLY REASON 4 STARS INSTEAD OF 5 IS JUST THE OVERALL FEEL OF THE MATERIAL. OTHER BRANDS SEEM TO USE BETTER QUALITY MATERIAL. WE'LL SEE HOW IT HOLDS UP THOUGH.
