Excellent pistol. I have heard of other owners having failure to feed or fire problems. There was a recall on the first run serial number "A" series, of which mine is one. Taurus has a lifetime warranty and will fix it. As far as mine, it is an original and I have had NO problems with failure to feed or fire. Goes bang every time so I don't want them to screw it up fixing it. Excellent, have carried it for a while now and don't even notice it's there.

I will say it is pretty accurate for a gun of it's size and I took it to the range and fired many FMJ round nose bullets with little trouble. Then one day I decided to see if it would fire hollow point. Big time jam every single time. Then I tried Winchester jacketed which has a blunt nose. Big time jam every single time. When it jams it renders the weapon useless. Yes, Taurus says they'll fix it free of charge but once a gun jams, I have no faith in it. I'll sell it or trade it off for a more reliable gun.

Comments about Taurus® Model 738 TCP Handgun:
Picked one up at my local gander mountain. I had heard of problems with this gun, jamming and failure to eject. Got it home loaded it with winchester hollow points, cycled and jammed. I did this several times. I then disassembled the gun cleaned it well and most important polished the ramp well with small wire brush. I haven't had a problem since. Round nose fmj, jhp no problem. Great gun! 50 rounds fmj and 12 jhp at range today without a problem. A gun is a machine, clean it, polish it, oil it, and know it well.

Comments about Taurus® Model 738 TCP Handgun:
Mine is a series "c" Just put approx 150 rounds through it including hardball, Federal Hydro Shock and Hornady Personal defense. No feed issues at all. Shot best with the Hornady Personal defense. This is the best 200.00 I've ever spent on a handgun. Out shot my buddies Ruger LCP and Kel-Tec and I could not believe the accuracy for such a short barrel. I'll buy another for my wife.

Comments about Taurus® Model 738 TCP Handgun:
I like the weight, style, calibar, and it carries well in a ambi-dexerious leather holster, well concealed weapon for dress and or casual carry.
I have not fired this weapon as of yet for one simple reason: I carry it most of the day and night, for some reason or another, the magazine keeps ejecting about a quarter of an inch. I have tried to figure it out with no results unless it is a factory defect. Can You Help Me? Bill H.

Comments about Taurus® Model 738 TCP Handgun:
Was looking for the smallest .380 my big mitts could tolerate. Need for summer carry when I'm not wearing a suit or sport jacket to hide my Berretta 92 or my 1911.
Originally picked the Ruger LCP since I have a couple Rugers and love them all. However, I went with the Taurus copy for one simple reason: The Ruger does not hold the slide open after the last shot.
Feel pretty strongly about this. First, you should know right away when your gun is empty. Second, don't care how experienced you are, you should never have to think twice about whether there's a round left in the chamber after you eject an empty magazine. In a perfect world, it should have a magazine safety, too, but at the very least the slide stop is essential.
Have shot 200 rounds of five different brands and it eats everything happily. Tried to make it FTF and discovered it doesn't like a limp grip. Speaking of which, the long trigger pull forces me to use the tip of my trigger finger; my preferred first-joint placement causes my trigger finger to touch my thumb and block a full trigger pull. Overcame this with practice, but try it out before you buy if you have big hands.
Wife tried it, hit well with it, but didn't like how hard it was to reliably rack the slide with her left hand (can't get a good safe grip on the small slide surface). She'll stick with her S&W J-frame.
Also found routine maintenance difficult because the take down pin is very difficult to remove. Haven't heard this complaint from others, so may be just this gun.
Finally, the cell phone holster is questionable. Took a lot of practice to draw as fast as a good in-the-pocket holster. Decided to stick with my pocket, especially since the cell phone holster is too big to fool anyone anyway.
Overall a decent pocket pistol. Can't get much smaller without going below the limit on stopping power. Would recommend with stipulations, and urge over the Ruger for safety reasons.
