Comments about Taurus PT 738 TCP Handgun:

I purchased this gun a couple of weeks ago and after cleaning it, which was very easy, I took it to the range the other day. I shot a box of 100 rds. of Winchester ammo through it and not one FTF or FTE. What a change from the .380 Hellcat that I have, which is also known as the Jam-O- matic. After we finished at the range I immediatley went out to the counter and purchased another one for my wife and traded the Hellcat in. I also purchased a rubber grip sleeve for it which makes it much easier to handle.

Using recommended bullets, shot 150 rounds no failure to feed or fire. 10 foot accuracy all shots go into the black. Will be buying another one for Valentines day for wife. Excellent value. don't care too much for the cell phone case supplied with gun.

Comments about Taurus PT 738 TCP Handgun:

This little gun looks a lot like the Ruger LCP, except that it has one major improvement...the grip. Taurus added just enough width to make it comfortable to hold as opposed to the flat, thin Ruger grip. However, the gun is still compact enough to easily conceal in a pocket.

I immediately cleaned and lubed the gun after purchase and before shooting. Disassembly and assembly was a breeze.

Most small pocket guns in the .380 caliber need about 50-100 rounds run through them before ever being put into use as a concealed carry weapon. I don't care what brand it is, they ALL (Sig, Ruger, Kel-Tec, Kahr, S&W, etc) have a few Failures to Feed (FTF) and Failures to Eject (FTE) during the first 50 or so rounds. Anyone who tells you otherwise is grossly mistaken.

I took it to the range and fired 100 rounds of Winchester 95 grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) through the gun. These rounds have a tapered blunt tip unlike the more traditional ball ammo. I chose this ammo because it was cheap and readily available at a local retailer. Plus, all I was going to be doing was punching holes in paper. I would obviously choose a quality Jacketed Hollow Point ammunition brand for every day carry.

As expected, the gun had three (3) Failures to Feed. One per magazine for the first three magazines. After that, the gun performed flawlessly. 100 rounds were fired at the 7yd range and 3" to 4" shot groups were easily to obtain. Keep in mind, this is a close combat belly gun designed to be used when the Stuff Hits The Fan. Fire a few close range shots and then bug out.

Overall, I am EXTREMELY pleased with this little gun and Taurus's lifetime warranty leaves me feeling extra warm and fuzzy.
