Initially had a bad extractor. Sent back to Taurus. No problems since. Shoots any ammo I put thru it. I'm not greatest pistol shooter, but I can draw from holster, double-tap and hit pizza box from 7 to 15 yards. Any accuracy issues I have are probably ME. Not meant for long-range.

I carry all the time, pocket holster. I don't wear tight pants any more (everyone around me is glad!!!) and you cannot tell I'm carrying. I like having 9mm vs 380 or 32.

I guess everyone is different, but I love my 709!!!

Purchased a P709 and after about 500 rounds the slide spring broke. I contacted Taurus Warranty for a replacement and after 3 months I still do not have the replacement spring. When and if I ever do get the spring I will trade this gun in for another brand.

Comments about Taurus® Model 709 Slim Sub-Compact Handgun:

I do not own the 709, I have the 740 and I LOVE IT!!!!! This gun is very easy to use and I am accurate with it. I use a Kangaroo Carry Air Marshall 3 for a holster. I can wear it under a T-Shirt without printing. The recoil on the 740 is not a problem, very manageable. I have several hundred rounds through it and it is still a joy to use. I would recommend it to everyone. My wife even enjoys shooting this 40cal.

Comments about Taurus® Model 709 Slim Sub-Compact Handgun:

I bought this for conceal carry, as well as something smaller to shoot at the range. The recoil is very manageable, and it's a comfortable gun to shoot. I have very small hands and am a small guy overall so the gun just matches me a bit better. I don't need any grip extension, but again I have very small hands. Tear down is quick, parts all seem durable, and it goes right through inexpensive ammo with no problems. If you want a small 9mm, or are looking for a good carry gun, I'd consider this.

Comments about Taurus® Model 709 Slim Sub-Compact Handgun:

I use this mostly as my personal protection piece. It fits so well you hardly know it's there. The only issue I had with it was the hand grip was too short so I bought an extension for the magazines and that took care of it. The only jam I had was on a bad shell. I hope that this helps someone who may be on the fence, it really is a great protection gun.
